Abstract

The impact caused by the coronavirus pandemic has imposed drastic changes in people’s routine. These actions affected several areas, including Education. Soon after the World Health Organization (WHO) declared a “coronavirus pandemic”, the Ministry of Education defined criteria to prevent COVID-19 contamination in schools. The fundamental challenge of Brazilian education was adapting to the new scenario imposed by the pandemic. One measure taken was including remote teaching in schools as an alternative to in-person activities. This alternative emerges so that students can fulfill the minimum workload required of class hours and so that it preserves the health and lives of students and teachers during the coronavirus pandemic. In this sense, this research investigated questions related to the process of remote education-learning in the municipality of Maravilha in the state of Santa Catarina through the Google Forms tool using a questionnaire sent to municipal and state teachers who agreed to give their opinion on the education-learning process. The results point to a lack of preparation in using remote tools for education and a certain difficulty in qualitatively assessing students and their learning. Here, the research suggests the need to review the pedagogical practices and training of teachers in the city of Maravilha in Santa Catarina state.
