Abstract

This theoretical essay discusses the COVID-19 pandemic, which has affected society on a global scale. Significant damage is perceivable, among others, in the economic, social, and educational spheres, however, they are not yet measurable. The impact on school education has been significant. For educators, there is the challenge of adapting and developing the curriculum remotely, as well as promoting the gradual return of students to the face-to-face model. This article aims to discuss the impacts of COVID-19 on the learning of students with disabilities and the importance of training teachers in this process. As a method, bibliographical and documentary research was adopted, aiming at raising questions and considerations on the subject. The study is organized into three stages: the first presented is the advance of COVID-19 as a pandemic in the world context; the second analyzes the impacts of the pandemic on the learning of students with disabilities and, finally, the third highlights the importance of continuing the education of teachers during the pandemic.
