Abstract

Currently, much is discussed about the challenges of inclusion of people with disabilities
in society. Recently, we can provide public policies, laws and statutory norms that cover people
with disabilities, in the sense of inserting them in contexts that until then were distant from their
realities, due to the structural prejudice existing since ancient times. However, it is worth reflecting that as important as the creation of laws and/or policies, is to make them enforced. Therefore, the relevance of the entry of people with disabilities to the inclusion system is highlighted,
especially on the part of social assistance, inserted as a means of guaranteeing rights, enabling
people with disabilities to enjoy social, political and governmental life. as citizens. That said,
this article must circumscribe reflections on the access to inclusion of people with intellectual
and multiple disabilities and autism in contemporary society, from the perspective of social assistance policy. Thus, we will deal with the theme, based on the historical-dialectical materialist
method of KarlMarx and FriedrichEngels, supported by qualitative research by the bibliographic
apparatus of current legislation, which restricts the rights of people with disabilities in Brazil.
