THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE INCLUSION OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES THROUGH SPORT AND THE PERFORMANCE OF SOCIAL SERVICE IN THE ASSOCIATION OF PARENTS AND FRIENDS OF EXCEPTIONAL PEOPLE (APAE) OF ARAPIRACA/ALAGOAS

Abstract

This article is the result of the formative process of the Mandatory Supervised Internship in Social Work carried out at the Associação de Pais e Amigos dos Excepcionas (APAE) in Arapiraca/Alagoas. It aims to address the relationship between the inclusion of people with disabilities through sport, based on the project "APAExonados por ASA" (Agremiação Sportiva Arapiraquense), developed by the institution's Social Service sector, thus demonstrating the potential of these activities. professionals in Third Sector institutions. The first section addresses the importance of access to social rights, which includes access to sport and leisure, as a possibility of facing the anti-capacity struggle. The second section deals with the role of Social Work in APAE Arapiraca in view of the need to include people with disabilities in a society that imposes several barriers. From this, the Project “APAExonados por ASA” will be presented, as a partnership proposal for the involvement of users of the institution beyond the walls of Apa with educational, sports and leisure activities. The article was critically constructed with a theoretical and legal basis based on bibliographical and documental research, which demonstrate the social relevance of such reflections, since they contribute to the achievement of the institutional mission of promoting and articulating actions for the defense of rights, prevention, guidelines , provision of services, support for the family, aimed at improving the quality of life of people with disabilities and building a fair and supportive society.
