ORIENTAÇÃO SEXUAL PARA PAIS DE PESSOAS COM DEFICIÊNCIA

Abstract

The scientific literature registers sexuality in a broad, diffuse and historical way, since it manifests itself in its complete dimension, covering the spheres: biological, psychological and social. In this perspective, sexuality is not limited to sexual pleasure, but is also manifestedl through touch and in all forms of expressing affection. When approaching this theme, it is noticed that the sexual and affective aspect of the disabled person’s life is neglected or forgotten, due to myths and prejudices manifested by the cuture and spreaded mainly by the family, raising attitudinal barriers and preventing these people from living with integrity. In this sense, this work is classified as a descriptive study, with the experience report model, experienced by a group of psychology students at the State University of Paraíba, in the extension project Sexual Orientation for Parents of People with Disabilities, funded by UEPB in quota 2022/23. The interventions carried out had the general objective of guiding those responsible for PcD's regarding the dimension of sexuality, as well as the production of strategies to approach this subject in the family context. In turn, the target public of the actions was concentrated in the Associação de Pais e Amigos dos excepcionais of Campina Grande, Paraíba – APAE CG. The methodology was conceived under a welcoming bias and executed through 7 conversation circles, with semi-structured themes and dynamics, which took shape from the demands reported by the participants. Through this work it was possible to promote the understanding of parents about human sexuality.
