COMPUTER MEDIATED LITERACY: A REPORT OF THE EXPERIENCE LIVED BY A VISUALLY IMPAIRED TEACHER IN TEACHING INTELLECTUAL DISABLED PEOPLE

This article presents some possibilities of literacy for individuals with intellectual disabilities, with teaching mediated using computer tools. It is understood, in the analysis, the teaching process as part of the formation of the citizen, looking for new ways to equip students with intellectual disabilities. In this sense, the experience of a teacher with visual impairments, who created the project “Alphabetizing through informatics”, by APAE de Guarapari, in her teaching practices, will be reported. So, the progress of one of the Institution's students will be described, to illustrate the work carried out. The results obtained demonstrate the real possibility of evolution in functional writing, by individuals with intellectual disabilities, even with a severe level of impairment.
