Special Education in the State of Paraná changed in 2011 due to a Resolution from the State Department of Education. The change in the nomenclature of special institutions changed the services, becoming part of the basic education process. This change started after a request made by the managers of these institutions stating that the work within the institution met all the objectives of basic education. The main objective of the work was to verify the changes that occurred in a Special Education School after the publication of Resolution 3600/2011 GS/SEED. To this end, interviews were conducted with five teachers who participated in this change. After the responses of the teachers, we understand that the work within the institution remains the same, changing in some classes the concern only with the educational process of the students, leaving aside the assistance side of the institution.
