Abstract

The present work presents the report of a physically deficient mother who cares for her daughter with Dystonic Dystonic Dyskinetic Cerebral Palsy during the period of social isolation. She tries to meet her daughter's needs in daily life and physiotherapy activities that minimize her muscle pain due to joint stiffness and involuntary and intermittent muscle contractions and cognitive development. APAE Bezerros, an entity to which the young woman frequents, sought with its users to provide some services with remote printed activities and guidance via WhatsApp, with calls and video calls. Physiotherapy professionals guided and monitored the whole process. The interventions and guidelines were marked by some setbacks, but that were not yet carried out. Residing in the rural area, sometimes internet signals were unavailable at established times, but the guidelines were made by telephone calls. The objective of this work was to identify the achievements and difficulties of people with disabilities with total dependence on third parties to meet their basic needs during the COVID pandemic 19. Using qualitative research. The applicability of techniques and activities in the face of an unexpected reality, developed abilities of overcoming, self-confidence and self-esteem of a mother with physical disabilities, with difficulty in locomotion, in placing maternal love above any obstacle, overcome barriers previously unimaginable in favor of the better quality of life of her daughter with Dystonic Cerebral Palsy.
