The article aims to propose reflections on curricular issues aimed at basic education schools in the Special Education modality. It reports and makes reference to the curriculum and its applicability in specialized schools, given the educational needs of students who study in these institutions. It also presents reflections on the pedagogical practices and actions proposed by the teachers in the midst of the specificities existing in a heterogeneous universe, sheltered by specialized schools. It is also discussed about the performance in the face of the diversity of students, effecting the approach and direction of a formal school curriculum that does not segregate learning, nor does it cancel students from an effective action of development and schooling. Themes about curricular issues and pedagogical practices in specialized schools were investigated through bibliographic research. For a better understanding of these themes, the document that guides specialized schools was researched, this document being entitled: Guiding Document - Education and pedagogical action, prepared in 2017. It outlines the actions and organization of specialized schools. This document is of great importance because it shows how the curriculum for special schools should be elaborated, given that, in this context, it must be flexible and dynamic, with dimensions of multi-representations. It is in this atmosphere that the school directs the educational needs of its demands and its specificities, defining the proposal of school inclusion or exclusion. Insert main results.
