This article presents an experience report showcasing the practical experiences of organizing and implementing an artistic and cultural event promoted by the Regional Coordination of Art and Culture of Greater Florianopolis and the results achieved in this event. According to the Guiding Document of the Technical Coordination Offices of the National Federation of APAEs, it is the Department of Art and Culture’s responsibility to disclose specialized knowledge in its field and propose actions encompassing the support and participation of People with Disabilities. The event promoted on November 17th, 2022, in Greater Florianópolis, gathered students and family members from six APAEs to see, value, and honor APAE artists and their works. We will discuss the event’s justifications, objectives, observations, and results, as well as some reflections on inclusion and the importance of art education in the context of special education.
