(RE)HABILITATIVE PEDAGOGICAL PROPOSAL FOR ELDERLY PEOPLE WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES FROM APAE: CRITICAL AND COLLECTIVE ANALYSIS

Objective: To critically and collectively analyze a pedagogical (re)habilitation proposal for elderly people with intellectual disabilities at APAE with special education professionals. Method: convergent care research, following the phases of conception, instrumentation, scrutiny and interpretation, carried out with 16 special education professionals. Data collection took place in November 2020, with discussion and reflection in a Convergence Group, through recorded remote workshops, following the script: 1) Recognition, 2) Revelation, 3) Sharing, 4) Rethinking and 5) Closing. The data was transcribed and organized in Word and data analysis included processes of apprehension, synthesis, theorization and transfer, using Collective Subject Discourse. Results: Critically analyzing the pedagogical proposal, the following were highlighted as potential: importance of the areas of skills, support and intervention of the multidisciplinary team and individualized perspective; the following were highlighted as weaknesses: need for training and expansion of services provided by the multidisciplinary team, improvement and organization of physical space; It was suggested: partnership with the carpentry shop, creation of materials for the classroom and expansion of contact with the family. Final considerations: evaluating the pedagogical proposal and rebuilding it collectively involved critical reflection on the strengths, weaknesses and suggestions, making it possible to qualify the process, rethinking practices and innovating for improvements with a focus on elderly people with intellectual disabilities.
